Imaging ToolkitMonitoringImagingLicensing

We're pleased to announce that Imaging Toolkit 12 is now available to download.

What's new

The following changes are included in this release:

  • ENGL Monitor Service™
  • ENGL Image Service™
  • Windows 11 support
  • Windows Autopilot deployment
  • Base image preparation BIOS/UEFI auto-detection

Breaking changes

Imaging Toolkit 12 supports Windows 10 and 11 64-bit (UEFI/BIOS) deployments only. Windows 7, 8 and Server OS deployment is no longer supported. This decision was made based on our telemetry and customer discussions. These changes will simplify our testing process allowing us to deliver product updates more quickly.

Subscription levels

As previously discussed in this blog, there are now Standard, Advanced and Enterprise subscription levels. Imaging Toolkit 11.x licenses with active maintenance will be ported to a matching subscription level. Again, check the above blog for migration paths. Subscription levels offer different Image Service™, Monitor Service™ and support benefits. Full subscription level details can be found here.

ENGL Image Service

This unique offering allows Imaging Toolkit 12 customers to use Build Console to download pre-built Windows 10 and 11 64-bit base images or request a custom image build. Base images are available in Linux/ZMG, WinPE/ZMG and WinPE/WIM format. With this service a reference machine is no longer required! All ZMG images are captured using the latest supported version of ZENworks.

Once the Imaging Toolkit 12 license is activated, visit the Image Service to view available pre-built images, custom image build progress and audit reports.

Note: You must import matching Windows media into Build Console to download an image or request a custom image.

ENGL Monitor Service

Taking inspiration from our on-premise solution ENGL Deployment Monitor, Monitor Service is cloud-based and available to all Imaging Toolkit 12 customers provided machines have internet access.

Using Build Console, configure your projects and imaging integration to use ENGL Monitor Service. Status updates and Imaging Toolkit log files (zim.log and ztoolkit.log) will be securely sent to the Monitor Service.

From the deployments view, detailed status and captured log files can be viewed. Columns can be re-ordered or customised to include ENGL build-attributes (EBD/ZISD). Custom log files can be specified to be captured during deployment. For failed or stalled deployments, simply use report issue from the dashboard to create an ENGL support ticket which includes access to log files.

User access to Monitor Service must be granted by your ENGL technical or license contact.
